Complete as issued with two large vellum volumes (45 cm by 29 cm) in a beautiful natural leather case (47cm by 33cm by 12.5cm). Volume One includes the critical edition of the trial papers as preserved by the Vatican Secret Archives on pure cotton paper bound in parchment. In addition, there are three replicas of engravings by Domenico Marchetti on special water-cut sheets and three replica red wax seals belonging to the inquiring cardinals. All of the materials were assembled with the use of ancient manual crafts. Volume Two is a commentary volume including rare illustrations and engravings by Pietro Marchetti dating to 1840. It is printed on watermarked cotton with a goat parchment binding and gold titles on the front and back. The natural leather case comes in a purple drawstring bag with the Vatican Secret Archives logo embossed on the side. The publication is intact, as issued, and in as new condition with the exception of a couple of small scratches and a smudge to the top of the leather case as shown in the photo attached.
