First printing of the First edition, as stated on copyright page; first state with shortened title page. In original dust jacket, price-clipped, with creases and a few chips to edges; in mylar and backed by paper. Red cloth over boards with embossed 'SL' on front and gilded lettering on spine; otherwise fine. Long fore edge is deckled, bottom fore edge is rough cut. Interior is lightly toned on front and rear end-papers; otherwise clean and clear.
