About this Item
A foundational and timeless work in commodity trading using technical analysis, market cycles, and fundamental understanding and how to utilize these concepts in a coherent, actionable framework to maximize profit. Overall Condition: VG/VG BOOK INFORMATION Published in 1951 by Lambert-Gann Publishing Co. Co. in Miami, Florida. Second revised edition, first printing. In its original purple cloth covered boards with gilt spine lettering. With its scarce original pumpkin-orange dust jacket. Octavo, 9 1/4" x 6 1/4". Collated and complete: [xvi], 412, [2] pp. Illustrated with dozens of charts, graphs and tables. The book combines fundamental analysis with technical analysis. Gann stresses understanding supply and demand forces-such as crop reports, weather, and geopolitical events-while also applying his proprietary technical tools, including chart patterns, volume analysis, and his geometric/astronomical methods (e.g., Gann angles, the Square of 9, the Circle of 360). He teaches how to time entries and exits precisely, using both market fundamentals and mathematical indicators. Gann provides 'universal' rules for forecasting commodity trends, emphasizing that trading in commodities is not gambling but a disciplined, business?like profession when conducted on defined principles. ABOUT THE AUTHOR William Delbert Gann (1878-1956) was a pioneering American market technician known for his innovative market forecasting based on astrology, geometric price relationships, swing chart analysis and time cycles. He believed markets moved according to natural laws and mathematical patterns, and he applied these concepts to forecast price movements and manage risk. Gann wrote from practical application, not theory, aiming to turn speculation and investing into a 'profitable profession' through disciplined application of his methods. He believed that market movements follow predictable cycles and that traders can use these to time entries and exits. Gann's work remains a cornerstone in technical analysis, with his unique approaches to market forecasting and time analysis still studied and applied by traders today.
