Item description from seller

Event program. Slim octavo. [8]pp. Vertical crease throughout and modest creasing at the bottom edge, wrappers with some tanning and soil, very good. Program for the oral examination of African-American sociologist and historian Daniel Grafton Hill while was a PhD student in Toronto. Hill was born in Missouri but settled in Canada after graduate school. The subject of his PhD dissertation was the Black population of Toronto; this program prints a 4½ page abstract as well as a brief biography. For his work as a civil servant, humans rights activist, and historian of Black Canada, he was awarded the Order of Ontario and made an Officer of the Order of Canada. Surely printed in very small numbers.
