True first British printing. No jacket as issued. Illustrations by H. R. Millar. 306 pages plus four pages of publisher's adverts to rear. Correct first issue (date of 15.08.06 to publisher's adverts). Red boards with gold lettering to spine are very good with a little pushing/bumping to corners, a little fading to spine, few marks, a little patchy fading, the odd small bump to edges, few small scratches, a little patchy rubbing to edges, little patchy fraying to the cloth to edges and a little wear (pushing/rubbing/little fraying to the cloth) to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight (slightly pulled towards middle of book - however book is not in danger of falling apart). Top edge of pages gilt (little scratched). Pages bit tanned. Inside boards/end-papers tanned with a few small marks/mild foxing. Small mark to lower edge of a few pages. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges and bottoms. Two previous owner's names and locations in pencil to front end-paper. Occasional small marks/scattered foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy. All books described honestly and accurately.
