Volume 129 of Punch weekly containing numerous illustrations by Arthur Rackham. Quarto, original publisher's cloth, illustrated by numerous artists including 10 illustrations by Rackham in issues of July 5, August 30, September 6, September 27, October 11, October 25, November 15, and November 29. In very good condition. Armorial bookplate and ownership stamp. One of the leading literary figures during the Golden Age of British book illustration, Arthur Rackham's work is noted for its robust pen and ink drawings, which were combined with the use of watercolor, a technique he developed due to his background as a journalistic illustrator. "Arthur Rackham’s fanciful imagination gave his illustrations instant recognition, and his dedication to illustration kept him in the public eye for 30 years" (Hodnett, 233).
