Volume 96 of the collection of Punch Magazine for the months of January through June of 1889, including Punch's Almanack for 1889 (published in December 1888). Half bound in fine brown calf over red boards, spine in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in one compartment, gilt tooling in remainder, blind-stamped borders on covers, blue endpapers. Profusely illustrated with engraved drawings, many full-page. "Punch, or the London Charivari was a British weekly magazine of humour & satire established in 1841 by Henry Mayhew & engraver Ebenezer Landells. It became a British institution." . Binding is tight and square, edges lightly shelf-worn, cloth on both front and rear covers mildly wrinkled, hinges strong, head of spine very lightly worn. Text block unmarked, clean, and tight.
