Add to basketTHE PUPPET-SHOW ON THE POTOMAC, Rufus Dart II, hardcover, first edition, 1934. BOOK CONDITION: fair. The text block is in very good condition with no dogears, marks, or tears, but there is a tiny pinhole sized indentation on pages 143-171 with no effect on legibility. Pages and endpapers are age-toned. Deckled fore-edge. No bookplate or signature of a prior owner. This is not a library book or remainder. The blue cloth boards are in fair condition (bumped and torn top and bottom of spine, bumped corners, shelf wear, faded and worn front and back covers). 8 ¼ x 5 ¾, 266 pages. 23 ounces XX Kirkus Reviews (1933/1934): The book was reviewed as another book debunking our public leaders, built around George Washington?s hopes and fears for the capital city. The review notes that Dart exonerates early leaders but skewers more recent ones, with gossip and surmise rather than heavy documentation.
