Jacket is toned, especially on spine and front panel; moderate chipping and creasing to edges; large tears on rear joint; one-inch diagonal tear to front panel. Binding is tight. Interior has some foxing and an occasional stain. Gift inscription to previous owner on front free endpaper, dated 1921. Includes a black-and-white portrait of Johnson as a frontispiece.
