First edition. 4to; 255pp; red stamped light blue buckram with title on front cover in a cartouche over which is a crown and a red cross below, title and publisher on spine; 12 full page illustrations in color and black and white, frontispiece a black and white photographic portrait of Queen Elizabeth; facsimile letter from Queen Elizabeth in her handwriting between pages 4 and 5; unclipped color illustrated dust jacket with a portrait of the Queen; light sunning of spine head and board edges, light age toning of paper and edges; chipping to upper and lower edges of dj with some age toning; very good in good dj. An interesting compilation of British authors contributed to the book whose proceeds benefited the Red Cross at the start of WWII.
