Synopsis:
Outlines methods for quick cutting, piecing, and applique, and includes directions for such projects as wall quilts, holiday decorations, pillows, baby accessories, and sweatshirts
Reviews:
With the rising popularity of quilting, there is a demand for both inspirational and instructional quilting books. Here, Mumm sets aside needle for pen to advocate her techniques and designs. Promoting the use of a rotary cutter and mat over scissors, she tries to simplify cutting and assembly. The designs are fresh and cute, but the dimensions are for wall display only. Conversions for enlarging patterns are tucked away in the introduction. The terminology used and other assumptions make this book a little complicated for a beginner, despite the author's tables of instructions and other shortcuts. Though the designs may be inspirational, the instructions are still complicated. A supplementary purchase for large public libraries only.
