First printing from 1956 of this aviation classic. The boards have a few light white spots and some discolouration around the edges but the lettering is quite bright. The page edges are heavily browned with some scattered spotting. The previous owner's name and a date are written in ink on the front free endpaper. The pages have browning around the edges and a tiny tear to the top edge of the title page. The jacket is a bit ragged with a one inch L shaped tear at the bottom of the spine, a one inch by half inch chip at the base of the spine over the spine and the front panel, a one and a half inch by half inch piece missing at the top of the rear panel and a half inch of loss at the top of the spine. There is some edge creasing and chipping at the corners. There is also some discolouration particularly at the top of the rear panel and on the spine where the jacket has been stained with this leaving browning to the reverse. The front panel has two small patches of white staining on the top half over and to the right of the title. The jacket is largely complete and although categorised as 'Poor' it is possibly on the low end of 'Good.' First printing. Seller Inventory # 005775
