Quarto (bedsheet, 28.25cm); original pictorial wrappers; 96pp; illus. Trivial wear to extremities, three tiny hair-line tears to spine, with text lightly and evenly tanned without being brittle; a bright, Near Fine example. Well-preserved issue of this successor title to Detective Tales (1922-24), which ran for 68 issues between 1924-1931. Contents include contributions by Vincent Starrett, Leslie McFarlane, Seabury Quinn, Joseph Melville Watt, Miriam Allen de Ford, Jack Stradling, John Matter, and others. Cover art by Norwegian-American artist Andrew Bensen (1902-1976). 8891.
