171p. Original cloth, restored with new cloth at spine ends. Recased with new endpapers; The spine has been restored, preserving most of the original black cloth on the spine and boards. Original gilt spine text is partially rubbed off. Original cloth portions are lightly chafed along the edges, and there are some small chips off the cloth on the front cover. A few small pen notations on first original endpaper. Light smudges here and there, but otherwise, text clean and binding tight. Very good condition overall. A scarce, early Deist/Free Thought work by a famous patriot of the American Revolution. The first edition was published in 1784; this is the 1854 edition.
