Hope to head of titlepage with the 'H. Hope' booklabel pasted to front pastedown and above that of Simon Nowell-Smith and beneath Judith Adams Nowell-Smith, and opposite on the front free endpaper the decorative Ex-Libris bookplate of John Gilmour (1906-1986), British Botanist, curator of the Cambridge University Herbarium. He was also Editor of the New Naturalist. In original blue sugar paper boards with title label to spine, worn, rubbed & split to spine,however a crisp copy, sound, tight & very good. This popular book of parodies went through seven editions in three months & still stands as the most widely read book of parodies ever published in the country.
