Softcover, 1967, First Edition. Good condition. Original stiff card printed wrappers with minor closed tears in outer edge of each cover and some scratching. Creased inside fold over. Lightly broken spine, but not detrimental to the overall condition of the book. Contents are complete, clean and annotation free. Rose-painting is a rustic decorative art found on Norwegian walls, ceilings and furniture of peasants houses, an art which boomed in the 18th century. This text describes the development of rose-painting, and the lives of the artists who chose to surround their daily lives by this colourful, intricate art.
