Red binder's cloth lettered in gilt on the spine (slightly sunned); edges slightly tanned or marked; an excellent copy with a pictorial bookplate on the front pastedown. The first edition of the 'first completed volume' of a work that eventually ran to eight volumes, issued in fascicles between 1969 and 1990.'The purpose of this work is simple: to make available the principal texts of the Ramesside age (c.1300-1070 BC) in a compact and accurate edition that should be comprehensive but handy to use' (the preface).
