The Real America in Romance

From the preface: "the idea is to weave into a series of fascinating romances the four centuries of American development from a wilderness into a world power. The true way to study American annals is to dive beneath the surface and follow the undercurrents. the plan of making the division by generations enables the reader to tie the historical characters and events of each generation of American history to romantic characters in whom he takes a personal interest." This best describes these incredible volumes with beautiful illustrations throughout. The blue cloth covers are in very good condition, a little faded, but the books themselves are practically pristine. There are no markings or damage in any of the volumes. The red cover paper on some of the labels is worn but one can still see the lettering on them.
