About this Item
111, 29 Pp. Printed Wrappers, Tape Spine. Fine. One Of An Annual Series Of Such Reports Issued 1985 And Thereafter, In The Public Domain Until At Least 1999. Reprinted By Permission Of The Department Of Defense Security Institute, With Transmittal Letter To Security Officers Within The Ins (Now Part Of Homeland Security). Actual Espionage Is And Always Had Been And Always Will Be A Preeminent National Security Problem. However, Identification Of Publicized Cases Is Not As Helpful As Would Be Some Serious Concern To The Actual Security Of Classified Information, Which Is And Always Has Been Lax, Hence The Proven Success Of Espionage Over The Millennia. The Cause Of This Failure Is Three-Fold: 1. The Lack Of Intelligent Employee Character Evaluation Before Providing Access To Such Information, Where Expediency Always Trumps Rational Evaluation; Espionage Cases Arise From Clearly Defective Characters. 2. The Carelessness Of Organizations In Failing To Encourage Employees To Report Anything Suspicious. 3. The Reluctance And Inability Of Authorities To Provide Prosecutions Which Would Be A Meaningful Deterrent, Seeking Only A "Fair Punishment" Instead Of Likely Deterrence. Seller Inventory # 054773
