Reviews:
A psychotherapist with a Masters in social work, Jenson here advocates her version of recently maligned regression therapy. She contends that many adult relationship problems may be traced to our childhood coping mechanisms. She recommends identifying childhood fears and abuse?broadly defined as any painful childhood memory?and working through them using a clearly outlined inventory and grief process. The book comprises a discussion of her theory of regression therapy; brief, illustrative case studies from her practice; and, lastly, step-by-step instructions for the lay reader. While regression therapy has been accused of planting false memories through hypnosis and other means, the advice Jenson gives is innocuous enough not to cause any psychological harm. Given the current popularity of this controversial topic, this book should be considered as balance for its self-help methodology.?A. Arro Smith, San Marcos P.L., Tex.
