Item description from seller

Green cloth with gilt cover titles; thin 8vo; 37pp (printed on rectos only); illustrated with 3 full-page woodcut style drawings plus 1 smaller text drawing. The story of the Kauffmann family who settled in northern New Hampshire in the late 1800's, establishing the Percy Summer Camp on Christine Lake near Stark, in Coos County. Mainly genealogical in nature with incidents of fishing for trout and pickerel plus hunting moose, deer, bobcat as well as shooting partridge. Fishing occurred in the lake as well as Upper Ammonoosuc River, a tributary of the Connecticut. An interesting account of homesteading in the Great North. This copy in near fine condition and most uncommon with the OCLC locating but 2 copies, at Princeton and the Fort Wayne public library and only 1 copy sold at auction in the past 25 years.
