Great Condition for age. SIMON, LADY RACHEL: English authoress; born in London Aug. 1, 1823; died there July 7, 1899; daughter of Simeon K. Salaman and Alice Cowen. She grew up amid the intellectual and refined surroundings of a home which was the rendezvous of many distinguished people. On July 12, 1843, she was married to John Simon, LL.B. A woman of striking individuality, Lady Simon kept from her seventeenth year a diary of "Records and Reflections," from which she, in 1893, published a selection covering a period of fifty years, from 1840 to 1890.".
