Harvey Frommer is the celebrated author of more than 33 sports books including the classics Shoeless Joe and Ragtime Baseball and New York City Baseball. Honored by the New York State Legislature, cited in the Congressional Record as a sports historian and journalist, the prolific Frommer is also the author of The New York Yankee Encyclopedia and A Yankee Century. Together with his wife, Myrna Katz Frommer, he authored the critically acclaimed oral histories: It Happened in the Catskills, It Happened in Brooklyn, It Happened on Broadway, Growing Up Jewish in America, and It Happened in Manhattan. Frommer is a professor in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program at Dartmouth College and a longtime follower of the Yankee-Red Sox rivalry.
