Type: Z A good copy of this first edition of Volume 1 containing introduction and investigation of the moon's right ascension. ccxv pp, 495pp, index. Contain fold out charts and tables. Printing ordered by The Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty. Bound in original brown buckram with a paper title block to the spine strip. There is rubbing to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine and a split of 6 cm from the head of the spine with a loose area of cloth - not fully detached. There is a little chipping to the cloth though at the tail of the spine. Light bumps to the board corners and some shelf wear to the boards. There is some chipping to the edges of the spine label and light rubbing, though the title is still readable. Many pages are unopened. The textblock remains clean and tight and there are no inscriptions. A good copy of this extremely rare book.
