Ginny Fistoulari and Mick Axbrewder who seem unlikely partners. She is capable and tough with a talent for self sufficiency, and he a borderline alcoholic with a talent for self destruction. But both are drawn together and make a surprisingly effective team. Of course, as they become closer, and the vulnerabilities begin to show, they become occasional lovers as well as colleagues. These are the first three books in the series, originally written in the 80s, and are a fascinating introduction to a gripping series. Reed Stephens was originally the pen name of fantasy cult writer Stephen R. Donaldson, author of the Thomas Covenant novels. Quite a scarce book.
