A first edition of G. J. H. Moon's book on New Zealand birds. First edition. With 137 colour plates and 91 black and white plates. Geoff Moon (1915-2009) was a world renowned New Zealand naturalist, ornithologist, conservationist, veterinary surgeon and photographer. He is the author and photographer of many books on New Zealand birds and landscape. In the original publisher's cloth binding with the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Minor shelfwear and bumping to the boards. Light edgewear to the dustwrapper, with some small closed tears. Tape repair to the dustwrapper, with a repaired chip to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine.
