DESCRIPTION - JUST RELATIONS is set in the town of Whitey's Fall, a declining former gold town peopled by a set of aging eccentrics, whose only religion is Remembering.' The townspeople include - Felicia Brinsmead, a seventy-three-year old spinster who has never had her hair cut so that it hangs over her like a huge, dirty web and who believes that she is the mother of a twelve-year-old boy, Fido; The narcissistic Mr. Ping, who willfully destroys his fading beauty; And there is the spirit of Kel McAlon, who has killed himself. Into this community comes beautiful thirty-four-year-old Vivien Lang, with whom the teenager Billy Swan falls in love, to the scandal of some of the town. To it also comes Senator Frank Halloran to inform the community that a highway is being built through to bring the town to life.
