A very scarce first edition copy of this murder-mystery from E. C. R. Lorac - the 29th in her long-running series featuring Chief Inspector Macdonald. First edition. Very scarce. In the publisher's original cloth binding. From Golden-Age crime writer E. C. R. Lorac, the pen name of Edith Caroline Rivett. She published her first detective novel in 1931; this was The Murder on the Burrows, a well-crafted debut which launched her detective Macdonald on a career that was to last for more than a quarter of a century. Relative to Poison is the 29th in this long-running series, in which Susan, who has recently been demobbed from the A.T.S., seeks a carer for her mother. Two girls are recruited, but upon their arrival to the estate of Marie Roverie, they find the woman dead. In the publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart, with fading to the spine and partly to the boards. Minor bumping to the extremities. Rear hinge cracked to gutter preceding rear free endpaper, with board itself firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the odd spot to the fore-edge and light spots to the endpapers. Contemporary ownership inscription to front free endpaper. Very Good.…
