'The Hon. Sir Josiah Symon, KCMG, has courteously handed us, for publication, the following extremely interesting biographical sketch. In his note accompanying the MS, Sir Josiah says: "Mr Sutherland was my uncle. The sketch was written by his younger son, the late James de la Zouche Sutherland, who was a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme court, very shortly before his death'. David Sutherland (1801-1879) arrived in South Australia in 1840; 'Obituaries Australia' has a very informative account of his life. Not in Trove.
