About this Item
1923 George H. Doran copyright; no other dates. Circa 1927 printing when Doubleday merged with George H. Doran Company. Title page retains the George H. Doran emblem of ribbon wrapping through tree foliage in grove. Stated at copyright page: "Copyright, 1923, by George H. Doran Company. Reminiscences of a Stock Operator. I. Printed in the United States of America". Extremely rare, early printing from original publisher - George H. Doran Company - after merger with Doubleday on investment strategy and philosophy. Dark olive green brushed cloth boards, fairly sharp gilt stamped spine titles with decoration, moderate shelf wear. Deckled pages very good, no writing to text body; moderate discoloration at endpaper, adjacent page to nine. Antiquarian signatures below each other inside cover: "Kathy Mills; R. Michelette". String-bind fine, square; hinges intact. Sharp near very good example of this rarity. A fictionalized account of the life of Jesse Livermore, who rose from "board boy" in a Boston brokerage office to become one of the most successful speculators on Wall Street. The inside story of the stock market and the man who found a "system" that worked. Considered a must-read classic by most anyone involved in the financial community. Despite the book's age, it continues to offer insights into the art of trading and speculation. Insights found within these pages have inspired countless generations of investors and made this one of the foremost investment classics. First appeared in the 1920's as a series of articles and illustrations in The Saturday Evening Post. These grew out of interviews LeFèvre conducted w/Livermore to whom he dedicated this book. LeFèvre also penned "The Making of a Stockbroker" and Wall Street Stories." Profits are made in bull and bear markets - but especially in volatile ones. 299 pages. Insured post. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 021017
