Add to basketNew York: George H. Doran, 1923. 8vo, 299 p., original mustard yellow cloth with front board stamped in blind and spine stamped in gilt. First edition of this Wall Street classic, a thinly veiled biography of the stock trader Jessie Livermore, the Massachusetts native born into poverty whose day trading strategies allowed him to amass a fortune on Wall Street, at one point becoming one of the wealthiest people in the world. "This book is almost an encyclopedia of trading advice from a master who lived through good times and bad. Lefevre captures the excitement of Livermore's career and, at the same time, preserves much of Livermore's market widsom" (Zerden). Though written nearly a century ago, Lefevre's work remains one of the most highly regarded books on investing and the stock market ever written. Minor crimping and wear to spine tips; light soiling to cloth; corners gently rounded, with a small, shallow bruise to upper rear board edge; minor discoloration and spotting to rear board, but a handsome copy.
