Spine sunned and title dulled, with wear to the edges and corners, else this is a very good copy with the textblock in near fine condition and seldom seen so. All plates present as issued. Note, however, that the Bird plate No. 2 was not issued; the Reptile plate 12 is misnumbered XIII. And, as Graff notes, the Landscape plates numbered 14-20 are misnumbered 15-21; all issued plates are here present. The large folding map is present. It is in good condition, with only a few separations at the folds, and a closed tear where it is detached. It is laid in at the rear. The Sitgreaves Expedition Down the Zuni and Colorado Rivers in 1851 was a combined American scientific and military mission to explore the Zuni River, the Little Colorado River and the Colorado River in 1851.
