The first edition of this very scarce report inquiring into existing laws surrounding sewers, conservancy, drainage and river navigation, from the nineteenth century. First edition. Vanishingly scarce work. Bound in full cloth, with the original blue paper front wrap bound in. A report given by the select committee of the House of Lords, appointed to inquire into the operation of existing statutes in regard to the proceedings by commissioners of sewers and conservancy, drainage and river navigation boards. The aim of this report was to consider means by which management can be improved in this area, in a convenient and cost-efficient manner, with particular reference to the storage of water, the prevention of floods and the discharge of other functions. Comprised of the report itself, proceedings of the committee, minutes of evidence and an appendix. Bound in full cloth, with the original blue paper front wrap bound in. Externally, generally smart, with rubbing to cloth and a few marks. Label to front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a little age toning to page extremities.
