The 1st Edition is unrecorded, the Society of Friends hold both the 2nd Edition and this 3rd Edition. John Fry [c. 1699 - 1775], the purported author of this religious verse was a Quaker poet, writer of mainly religious epistles. Mary Hinde took over the press following the death of her husband in 1766, maintaining control and printing most items for the Society of Friends in London until her retirement in 1775.
