Toronto, Canada. McClelland & Stewart Limited. 1946. First Canadian Edition. Octavo (8 x 6). 248 plus page About the Author. Illustrated with eight black and white plates drawn by Charles De Feo. Haig-Brown's book is the best account published on the singular migration of a Pacific salmon as she travels from her river of birth, out to sea, and back again to complete her life cycle. The book is bound in beige cloth with green spine titles. Pictorial dust jacket. By the way, the jacket on this edition is bazaar. The fish illustrated on the jacket clearly isn't a salmon, but it does resembles a cross between a cod and a bonefish. A nice book. Near fine in a fine dust jacket.
