About this Item
A smart first edition of this scarce biographical work on Anglican priest Richard Waldo Sibthorp. First edition. Scarce work. With a frontispiece. The life of Richard Waldo Sibthorpe, an Anglican Pastor of St. James's, Lind St, Ryde who created scandal when he converted to the Catholic Church. Told chiefly in his own correspondence with an appendix of his earlier teachings. Written by James William Fowler III, a British theologian and Chaplain-Warden of St. Anne's, Lincoln. Rebacked in the original cloth binding with gilt. Externally, smart with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound with frontispiece loosening slightly. Pages are very bright with minor age toning and the odd spot to the endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate and label to the front endpaper. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 921T62
