Might and Right. By A Rhode Islander (attributed to either Frances Harriet Green or Catherine Williams) and printed in Providence by A.H. Stillwell. 1844, 324 pp, 7.5 x 5 , 8vo, hardcover cloth binding. In overall good condition, with rubbing and wear to boards and spine. Fading to lettering on spine, along with loss to cloth at top and bottom. Hinges remain in good condition and text block is bound well. Frontispiece at front. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce 1st edition on the Dorr Rebellion, which established a parallel government in Rhode Island to protest mass disenfranchisement of the state s male population.
