Dark green full cloth boards, crisp gilt cover and spine titles, light shelf, corner wear. Cover depicts sharp Rackham design in gilt of the aged Rip van Winkle with walking stick. Pages generally near fine, clean; some fox to first few leaves. Matte dark green endpapers. Bind fine, square; hinges intact. Includes fifty-one color plates with captioned tissue guards from the inimitable Arthur Rackham and fifty-seven pages of text. Also, decorative headers, tailpieces, etc. throughout. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spine and front board. All edges green; dark green endpapers. Spine professionally repaired with the original spine laid on. Contents quite foxed to the margin, captioned tissue guards, most with some foxing, minor bumps to corners, repaired to joints and ends. Two illustrations [4 and 5] facing each other see photos with the captioned tissue guard torn at the base. An attractive copy. viii; 62pp. Provenance: crossed out signature to 'Father from Clara and Harry' on the front end paper. Approximately 10 ¼ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition repaired, with the original sine laid on to the new cloth, worn and rubbed. Joints good condition rubbed and worn, repaired.
