The 'third chimpanzee' is man, and this book is about the ways in which we are uniquely human yet still influenced by our relatively recent animal origins.

I will begin by saying that mine is neither a conventional bookstore nor a conventional business. I have been a great reader and learner all my long life and have acquired a substantial number of books, which I began to sell off in a small way when I moved to a flat about ten years ago - and now that I am even older I am having to move once again in the next year or so, this time into an even smaller flat in a retirement community.
