A River of Retribution

London, 1741.

Murder is just the beginning!

A body washed up at Queenhithe Dock leads thief-taker, Richard Hopgood, to delve into all layers of London’s society.

Ably helped by Ned, his erstwhile colleague and Kitty, a streetwise whore, he begins to unravel the tangled threads of duplicity and deceit. A secret group, wanting the usurper King George overthrown and the rightful James Stuart to return in his place, will go to any lengths to achieve their goal.

From the slum of St Giles to the steps of Westminster, Hopgood follows the trail through the streets of Georgian London, discovering secrets within secrets, lies, subterfuge and obsession, culminating in a heart-stopping, white-knuckle ride in a wherry beneath London Bridge as the guilty and the innocent are inexorably drawn back to the lifeblood running through the City: The River Thames — The River of Retribution.
