Add to basketOne of the earliest guides to Riyadh. Printed at the Al Mutawa Press in Dammam. This copy has interesting provenance. Colour illustrated wraps 12 x 17cm. viii + 112pp, with frontispiece portrait of Ibn Saud, b/w photographs, and 7 Sketch Maps. Contents include Historical Background, Guide to the Districts, Trips around Riyadh, and Further Reading. Maps show Riyadh in 1862 and 1918, and its various districts including the old town. US Ambassador Bill Rugh became Director of the American Cultural Center in Jeddah in 1966, and first Director of the English Language Center in Riyadh in 1968. He also served in Yemen, UAE and Syria before becoming President and CEO of American-Mideast Educational and Training Services. Covers and interiors very good.
