One folded self-mailer of card stock, ca. 6 x 10 1/2 inches folded. Printed in red and black. Half of one page is pictured. Program for opening day, March 9, 1912. Lists 13 events, their prize money, conditions, and the March 9 entrants for most of the events. The events are cowboy pony race, cowboy fancy roping contest, stagecoach race for Southwest championship, steer roping, maverick race, ladies' bucking contest for California championship, steer wrestling for Southwest championship, ladies' rope spinning contest, cowboy trick riding contest, bucking contest for Southwest championship, potato race, bull riding, and wild horse race. The rodeo was held at "Lucky" Baldwin's Rancho Santa Anita, March 9 to 17, 1912, with a total of $10,000 in prize money to the winners (this information is from another source, not mentioned in the program). The cowgirls included Hall of Famers Lulu Parr and Bertha Blancett. One of the bucking horses was the legendary Cyclone. One of the trick riders was Chester A. Byers. The back cover has space for a mailing address (not filled in), plus promotional text by J.H. Gwinn, secretary of the rodeo. Very scarce; no copies in WorldCat. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate. Good. Smudged and soiled overall. Two-inch closed tear to page 2/back cover. Apparently removed from an album, with a rubbed strip along the back cover (trivial loss of content). Seller Inventory # 31529
