Item description from seller

"Rolling Stones: The Way of Life of A Civil Engineer" by Ralph Bennitt offers a compelling exploration of the civil engineering profession. Published in 1942 by Row, Peterson & Co. as part of "The Way of Life Series" with series editor Eric Bender, this hardcover edition features burnt orange cloth-covered boards. The front cover showcases an illustration in black print depicting a construction worker on an I-beam signaling to a crane operator, while the spine carries black lettering for a distinctive aesthetic.Despite its fair condition, marked by past use as a school library book with a cardholder and a single stamp, the book remains a captivating resource for those intrigued by civil engineering. The moderate to heavy wear on edges and corners, with fraying at the spine ends, attests to its age and history. Nevertheless, the binding retains its square and tight structure, ensuring the book's durability.Measuring 9.25 x 6.1 x 0.4 inches and comprising 64 pages, this book provides valuable insights into the life and work of a civil engineer. The interior pages, crucial for conveying the content, are clean and unmarked, preserving the text's readability. For shipment, the book will be carefully packaged to protect it from the elements. A USPS electronic tracking number will be provided at no extra cost for added convenience. If you have further inquiries or if you'd like additional pictures of this vintage exploration of civil engineering, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for considering this unique piece from the mid-20th century.

Store description

Alien Bindings is an online bookshop located in Baltimore that has been in operation for nearly 20 years. Alien Bindings caters to the sciences including the physical sciences, astronomy, mathematics, computer science, the social sciences and medicine. I also dabble in a wide array of other categories including antiquarian books and history. I run a clean, green business. I try to reuse clean materials for packaging whenever possible. For example, books are carefully packaged frequently using clean cardboard for custom made boxes, recycled paper is used for printed labels and recycled plastic or bubble wrap is used for a weather-proof barrier. I drop the packages off to my local post office via foot or cycle in order to further reduce the carbon footprint.
