Octavo (printer's signatures at each eight leaves); 238pp plus 2pp advertisements, illustrated throughout by line drawings and diagrams, some on art paper. Blue, cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and design on the cover and gilt lettering on the spine. Bookplate on the front pastedown. Minor general wear and ageing given that this book is over 100 years old. A very comprehensive and well illustrated guide to symbolism in the Church. A thoughtful present, perhaps, for a Dan Brown fan.
