No date, but circa 1890/1902 ? A Lovely Ernest Nister published childrens book in poetic form, illustrated with both monotone illustrations and beautiful chromolithographs. Lacks rear free endpaper. In Pictorial paper-covered boards, covers a little worn with scratches mainly to the plain rear cover. The corners and edges rubbed, and the head/tail of spine bumped with a little hole to the very foot of the red cloth spine. Internally there is a tiny booksellers label (Wm. Whiteley, Westbourne Grove) to the bottom inner corner of the front pastedown. Decorative endpapers. Inner paper gutters slightly splitting /browning. The page fore-edges and the paper is tanning/browning with age. Unpaginated. Every page has little, or larger sepia illustrations to the text, by Harriett M. Bennett. Illustrated with full page plates = 22 f/p chromolithographs and a couple in sepia, plus the Title page is illustrated in full colour, as is one of the poetry pages. Overall a Good copy of a Charming early publication for children, printed by Ernest NISTER in Bavaria - known for beautiful colour printing. See Images ; Small 4to 9" - 10" tall.
