Omar Khayyám (18 May 1048 - 4 December 1131) was a Persian mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet. [Rendered into English Verse by Edward FitzGerald (31 March 1809 - 14 June 1883)]. Illustrated by Stephen Gooden [Stephen Frederick Gooden R.A., R.E., C.B.E. (born Tulse Hill, London, 9 October 1892, died Chesham Bois, Buckinghamshire 21 September 1955) was an English artist, engraver and illustrator. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1933 and a Fellow of the Royal Academy in 1946].

Rubáiyát over 62 pages carrying the 75 quatrains of Edward FitzGerald's version enriched with 4 mounted plates and 4 decorations by Stephen Gooden. Marks to the boards, contents in Very Good clean condition, no dust wrapper. Gooden's work can be found in the collections of the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, USA.
