First edition in green cloth boards, gilt stamped spine and cover, jacket cover by Philip Burne-Jones, decorated end papers. Eight pages of color illustrations and 90 b/w, indexed. Collection of 20 essays fully describing Kipling's life and works. Weidenfeld & Nicolson; London, 1972, 178 pps. Fine copy with some sun fading along top edge and a neatly affixed book plate on front pastedown in a VG clipped jacket now in mylar that has edge wear and a couple of closed tears.
