Claflin Co, an New York rug importer to be used by their rug dealer customers and with the rug dealer listed as the author on the title page, hence the name of this Buffalo rug dealer on that page. This version has more pictures of rugs than later editions and a section on places with pictures in Constantinople. There is a 5 page table with types of Persian, Caucasian,Turkmen and Turkish rugs: Tabriz, Kara Dagh, Sehna etc. with what the warp and weft are made of and knot counts horizontal and vertical. Paperback. Used, fair condition.
