Scarce first edition, first issue of 1896. 180-page text in very good, tight, clean condition with no inscriptions. Light age-browning of the blank end papers only. The front blank end paper bears the armorial bookplate of John Gretton of Stapleford, who was the First Baron Gretton. The original cloth binding, with gilt titles on the spine, is in good, tight condition, though faded. Introduction by Julian Corbett. Illustrations and maps, including a coloured folding map. Weight 527g. See photographs attached. (H-24).
