Undated c.1900.150p +adverts for "How to obtain strength", Monserrat Lime Juice, Sandow's Developer, dumb bells & etc. Alfred Downer was Jamaican born but ran in Scotland and was one of the world's fastest men in the 1890s before being banned for professionalism. His autobiography includes tips on training as well as profiles of the leading sprinters of the Victorian era. The book is clean and unmarked though a little toned.
